Umphakatsi project held a spectacular presentation on the 21st of March 2007. The 21st of March in South Africa is known as human rights day. The Umphakatsi Team started off the day by attending a mass action Social Movement Indaba demonstration that was held in the innercity of Johannesburg. The purpose of the march was to highlight the missing human rights situaion in South Africa and countries such as Zimbabwe, Palestine, Iraq, Swaziland and Iraq.

The team then proceeded to an evening website presentation in Mulbarton, South of Johannesburg wherein Dorina Bowes was a host. The website project is one of the arms for Umphakatsi Project which was a theme for the presentation. It focused on the web process which involves designing and developing user friendly websites for individuals, coopeartives, not for profit organisations, different institutions,  NGO's, etc. During the presentation the emphasis was on how organisations and individuals struggle to maintain and update their website. The website project is turning around the website industry by capaciting individuals and organisations on how to maintain their website with less hassles and affordably.

The package comes with a Content Management System (CMS), which makes maintaining a website userfriendly in a sense that clients or organisations are given an easy 3 step guide. The online or telecommunication guide is on how to upload news, stories, articles, pictures, create new menu items,  publications anywhere and anytime. What made the presentation interesting was that Dorio Bowes, son to Ms Bowes could not believe how easy to use the web package after Sarah Motha - Umphakatsi Project Adviser- directed him to the umphakatsi website and orientated him on uploading a story. Dorio agreed that what Umphakatsi websites is providing is far mind blowing than any service provider that he has so far encountered. The hands on experiences to Dorio made a whole lot of difference. Dorio is currently in contact with Umphakatsi Web Project for possibilities of collaborations.

The Umphakatsi Website Project attempts to create income generating opportunities to unemployed individuals, by involving them as commissioned fee agents.
